 How to run GetHardwareID
===============================================================

To license TimbyrNode to your computer we need a small hardware
fingerprint. GetHardwareID reads four stable identifiers and
writes them to one JSON file that you email back to us.

The script only reads information: it changes nothing, installs
nothing, and sends nothing over the internet. Any IT administrator
can read it in under a minute. No administrator rights needed.

---------------------------------------------------------------
STEP 1 - Unblock and extract
---------------------------------------------------------------

  1. Save "GetHardwareID.zip" somewhere easy, for example your
     Desktop.
  2. Right-click the zip and choose "Properties". If an "Unblock"
checkbox shows near the bottom, tick it and click "OK".
  3. Right-click the zip again, choose "Extract All...", then
"Extract". You now have a folder with "GetHardwareID.ps1".

---------------------------------------------------------------
STEP 2 - Run the script
---------------------------------------------------------------

Right-click "GetHardwareID.ps1" and choose "Run with PowerShell".
A blue window runs for a second or two and shows a green
"Hardware ID:" line on success.

If nothing happens, the file opens in Notepad, or you see
"running scripts is disabled on this system":

  1. Click Start, type PowerShell and open "Windows PowerShell".
  2. Go to the script's folder, for example:
         cd "C:\Users\YourName\Desktop\GetHardwareID"
  3. Run this line exactly:
         powershell -ExecutionPolicy Bypass -File .\GetHardwareID.ps1

This runs the script this one time only; it changes no
     Windows security settings.

---------------------------------------------------------------
STEP 3 - Send us the file
---------------------------------------------------------------

On success the script writes to your Desktop:

    HardwareID_<your-computer-name>_<date-time>.json

Reply to your licence request email with that file attached. If
your email blocks ".json" attachments, zip the file first or
rename its extension to ".txt"; we can read either.

---------------------------------------------------------------
If it shows a red error
---------------------------------------------------------------

Most common cause: no network adapter is switched on. Connect
Wi-Fi or plug in an Ethernet cable, then run the script again.
If it still fails, email us a screenshot of the whole window.
